Vince Young receives citation after punching a man at strip club

Dallas police formally issued a Class C assault citation against Titans’ quarterback Vince Young early Sunday morning following an altercation in a strip club.

Young was caught on videotape arguing with a man, who then flashed a “Horns Down” sign in reference to the quarterback’s alma mater. Young then became angered by the gesture and struck the man in the face with a punch.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello confirmed that the NFL will look into the assault allegations, although it’s unlikely that Young will face a suspension given that this is his first altercation with the law. That said, if he’s convicted, there’s a chance that the league could suspend him for one or two games.

On Monday, Young addressed the media by stating, “I pray to God that Roger Goodell doesn’t come down hard on me, because I definitely want to be here for my teammates. I made a mistake, and I’m going to own up to my mistakes.”

Odds makers currently list the Titans as a 28/1 long shot to win next year’s Super Bowl. If Young is suspended, those odds would likely drop.

Where will Tim Tebow be drafted in the 2010 NFL Draft?

The 2010 NFL Draft is only days away now and one of the big mysteries surrounding the event is where Florida quarterback Tim Tebow will wind up.

Odds makers have released prop odds on Tebow, including what round the quarterback will be drafted in. The best odds on him reside in the second round, where he has money line price of +175.

Some observers think Tebow will be taken somewhere in the first round, although that seems like a reach. His money line odds for the first round are +350, same as his fourth round odds. His third round odds are +220.

Perhaps the most value is on Tebow being taken rounds five through seven. There’s a good chance that he doesn’t even get drafted at all, seeing as how he’ll completely have to change his throwing motion in order to be a pro quarterback. He’s more likely to be drafted at another position, than at QB.

The first round of the 2010 NFL Draft is Thursday, April 22.
